Zhejiang University is a comprehensive, research-oriented and innovative national key university directly under the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China. It is a university directly managed by the Central Committee and is a "Double First-Class", "Project 211" and "Project 985" construction university. With the in-depth development of the school's informatization construction, the existing equipment is old and there are problems of insufficient performance and data space. The construction of a new data center to continuously provide safe, stable, reliable, scalable and sustainable overall information system support services for all levels of units in the school has become an urgent need.
MacroSAN Technology provided two MS9000G2 four-controller high-end storages for the data center of Zhejiang University. Each storage was configured with 2TB of cache, providing a total of approximately 6PB of storage space. They were connected to the blade server cluster, with a total of more than 200 servers, to build the VMware virtualization platform.
The MS9000G2 four-controller high-end storage, while fully exerting its outstanding performance, offers higher reliability. It enables no data loss and no interruption of business when any three controllers fail simultaneously, fully satisfying the exacting reliability requirements of Zhejiang University for key businesses as well as its data storage needs in the past and in the future.
